At the Grove, we
have been changed,

we are constantly being changed,

and we are bringing forth change in our community and world.

Stories of Change

How Grove people are being changed and causing change…

Visit from the Gueveras

What a privilege to host Gustavo and Karissa Guevera, our global partners serving in Morocco, while they were in Riverside for 2 weeks. Del and Sharon Thompson welcomed them into their home and cared for them like their own kids! Gus and Karissa felt incredibly blessed by all of you who invited them to your Little Churches, Men’s and Women’s Bible Study tables, Sunday school classes, or over for dinner. Thank you for showing Grove Love to our faithful workers and spurring them on in their continued ministry. Pray for the safe arrival of their daughter, due to be born in a few weeks. Warmth for Crosswinds Church

During the past month, we have collected and delivered about 150 warm coats and jackets to the men, women and children at Crosswinds in Mead Valley. Thanks to Phyllis Skala for organizing this project and making several trips out there.

Here’s what Pastor Harold and Vicki have to say about all the many ways Grove folks have made life a little easier for their congregation.

“We wanted to take a minute to express our appreciation to all the ladies of the "Homework Club,” for Debbie, Reggie, Austin, Natalie, the college "Sunday School" team, Beverly & John Knipple (for all the delicious baked goodies that they bring often from Bloomington) and for Mike Barnes' Little Church....on and on… We are BLESSED!!!!!

Foster Children

30 Days of Prayer for Foster Kids

Beginning this past weekend and every day leading up to the Walk Your Talk Walk, we will be praying for a special foster child who is waiting to be adopted and asking God to send them their forever family. During the last several years that we’ve prayed specifically for these children, God has answered us in HUGE ways, including the adoption of over 50 kids by Riverside families! Print out a prayer calendar (also found in the bulletins from this weekend) and commit to praying with your own family and wider Grove family this month. For more info, please visit www.walkyourtalkwalk.com

Walk Your Talk Walk

SATURDAY MARCH 27th, 9 a.m.  at CBU

Join with hundreds of other Riverside families committed to raising awareness and funds to make a difference for our local foster children.  Each year, the Walk has drawn the support of many foster agencies, pastors, civic leaders and caring folks wanting to lend their voice (and feet) in order to see a better future for hurting kids. The proceeds for this year’s walk will go to the Teen Leadership Foundation to support their summer camp ministry for foster teens. Mark this special day on your calendar now! www.walkyourtalkwalk.com

Children at Risk: Uganda

Featured letter from a Grove-Sponsored Child

Many of you who chose to support a Ugandan child through Step Into Africa last fall have been receiving letters from these precious kids. Aren’t they wonderful!? If you have one you’d like to share in this monthly e.bulletin, please contact Sarah at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Here is one recent letter from 5 year old Saron:

“Hello to my sponsor in America. How is your family? Do you have any pets? What are their names? I am glad to hear from you and I really wanted a sponsor from America, so I am glad you are mine. This makes me very happy. My name is Saron and I am a silly girl, I like to play games with my friends. I help my mother carry water, wash dishes and put them away. I have a pussy cat, we like him very much, we are able to have cats, dogs and a cow.

Goodbye, Saron”

Amdo Tibetans

Fiona in China

After years of praying that The Grove would be able to send “one of our own” to minister among our adopted people group, we are thrilled to share that God has answered our prayers! Fiona, a beloved and faithful servant at The Grove, left for China on February 23rd and we couldn’t be more thrilled and excited to see how God will use her! If you missed her powerful video testimony, watch it here. Please be remembering Fiona in your prayers and if you’d like to receive her emails write to Stacey at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Partners for Change

Encouraging and supporting our featured global partners each month

The Kallestads: Doug, Shelly, and their 5 children have served in Santiago, Chile for many years, training new leaders and pastors, as well as sending Chilean missionaries into the 10/40 window nations. We PRAISE GOD that ALL of our Grove friends in Chile and the many people the Kallestads work with were not harmed in the earthquake. They ask for prayer that they will be able to meet people’s needs and share Christ’s love through this crisis. See a picture of the Kallestad family.

The Ballards: Rodney, Joy, and their 2 (almost 3!) children live and work in the Philippines, helping to support the Bible translation efforts of fellow missionaries and locals. The Ballards share great stories of island-living and serving God on their blog at http://ballardfamily4.blogspot.com/ . See a picture of the Ballard family.

The Lillestrands: Greg, Charmaine, and their 2 children minister in Italy leading a strategic university campus ministry aimed at raising up a new generation of Christ-followers in this “post-Christian” nation. See a picture of the Lillestrand family.
